What is Shopmobility?

The Shopmobility scheme allows people with limited mobility to use manual and powered wheelchairs and electric powered scooters to access local shops and use the town centre facilities.

How much will it cost?

Annual Membership is £10.00 plus

Mid Devon Shopmobility do need your help with the running costs and a donation box is located at reception and any contributions will be gratefully received.

Who can use the Scheme?

Shopmobility is for anyone over the age of 16, who has either permanent or temporary mobility problems.

How do I use Shopmobility?

Opening Hours

Monday to Friday: 9am - 4pm

First Saturday each month to coincide with the Farmer's Market 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Booking

You can book your wheelchair or scooter by either phoning or calling in to the centre. This should ensure that a particular wheelchair or scooter is available.

It is advisable to book wheelchairs and scooters in advance. To avoid disappointment and any inconvenience simply call us on 01363 773303.

Registration

At the Crediton & District Shopmobility Centre you will be met by a member of staff who will register you into the scheme. If you have not used the scheme before please bring some form of evidence of identification (e.g. Driving Licence or Blue/Orange badge, etc.).

Training

Training in the use and operation of the wheelchairs and scooters is provided. Once you are confident its off to the shops and town centre.

Conditions

All wheelchairs, scooters and equipment booked with Crediton & District Shopmobility is subject to availability of stock. Users of the Scheme must be able to satisfy Crediton & District Shopmobility staff that they are able to meet our vehicle training standards before using vehicles independently.
